This past Sunday, we had over 30 people out on a quiet and foggy Sunday morning at RAT Beach to join the collective in taking care of our treasured marine resources. As usual, we found thousands of pieces of plastic and styrofoam trash along the water's edge and tucked into the rocky coastline. We welcomed several first time families from the South Bay who are excited to be getting involved in helping leave the beach better than we found it. It's encouraging to see so many new faces at our local beach cleanups! Overall we removed thousands of pieces of styrofoam, plastics, and other trash that amounted to over 80 pounds of trash. Think twice when you are purchasing a single use product made of styrofoam or plastic as much of it ends up in the ocean if not properly disposed of after use.

We hope to see you at one of our next beach cleanups and encourage you to sign up for updates and upcoming events this summer.
