Organic First Approach to Land Management
The Cove Collective urges the the cities of the Palos Verdes Peninsula to adopt an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) plan that will make an organic first policy in our public spaces. The city of Palos Verdes Estates is leading by example with their commitment to reducing the use of harmful chemicals along city trails and parklands. What is Organic First? It means the city landscape maintenance plan will encourage organic approaches to managing weed/plant growth and discourage the use of herbicides and pesticides. Many cities in Southern California have adopted this approach including Manhattan Beach, Malibu, Irvine, Mission Viejo, Costa Mesa, San Clemente, and San Juan Capistrano. For more details on an Organic First approach for our public spaces, please visit https://www.nontoxiccommunities.com/ for more details.
